Overview
HOOKY Aqueous Base Injections contains Diclofenac Sodium. Diclofenac Sodium is the Sodium salt form of Diclofenac, a benzene Acetic Acid derivative. Diclofenac is an analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory.
Diclofenac belong to the NSAID group.
HOOKY Injection can be used in the treatment of the following conditions:
- Post-operative Pain
- Abdominal Colic
- Trauma & Fracture
- Sprains, strains and other injuries
- Cervical Spondylitis, ankylosing spondylitis & pyrophosphate arthropathy
- Acute Pain – Gout, Low Back Pain and Renal Colic
- Tendonitis (inflammation of the tendons) & bursitis
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Kidney stone pain
- Dental Pain
- Menstrual Pain
One HOOKY Injection by intradeltoid/ intragluteal injection 1 or 2 times a day in severe cases.
The anti-inflammatory effects of diclofenac are due to inhibition of both leukocyte migration and the enzymes COX-1 and COX-2, leading to the peripheral inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis resulting in the analgesic effects of diclofenac. Antipyretic effects may be due to action on the hypothalamus, resulting in peripheral dilation, increased cutaneous blood flow, and subsequent heat dissipation.
